Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is seeking a dynamic Demand Planner to join a client's team in California. This role is crucial for driving impact by assisting in the development and management of sales and demand forecasts for new and sustaining hardware products. The Demand Planner will play an integral part in setting realistic sales targets and making strategic resource allocation decisions to ensure optimal production and inventory levels.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Forecasting
    • Participate in and coordinate a current 12-month rolling sales forecasting process.
    • Present forecast to cross-functional upper management team.
    • Work with Business Applications (BizApps) team to build and maintain accurate historical reporting of actual customer demand, actual sales, channel inventory, stock outs, pricing, promotions, etc.
    • Deliver sales forecasting metrics, research, accuracy, projections, reporting, presentation to management, and retrospection.
    • Leverage and analyze channel inventory data to properly inform sales forecasts.
    • Evaluate territory and regional demand to properly assign proportionate revenue quota.
  • Demand Planning
    • Collect data from internal and external sources to understand factors affecting demand.
    • Review historical sales trends.
    • Analyze the effectiveness of sales promotions and perform financial modeling of future promotions to ensure maximization of profit.
    • Provide input to the supply planning organization in developing inventory strategies, including safety stock quantities for sustaining, new, and end-of-life products.
    • Chair weekly meetings with the supply chain to address order backlog.
    • Refine systems and methods to improve forecasts and better anticipate customer needs.
  • Project Management
    • Develop an understanding of current Demand Planning & Sales Forecasting processes.
    • Assist in the development of key metrics to evaluate current and future processes.
    • Define selection criteria for an optimal demand planning tool to suit UA needs.
    • Drive discussions related to budgeting of demand planning solutions.
    • Partner with Business Applications (BizApps) group to investigate software vendors, curate a shortlist of potential solution providers, and arrange demonstrations.
    • Present findings and recommendations to upper management.
    • Act as department lead for implementation.
    • Maintain role as department point person for maintenance, testing, and training.

Qualifications

  • Professional success in driving sales forecast modeling, timeliness, accuracy, reliability, reporting, presentations, and retrospection required.
  • Proven track record of coordinating large amounts of data, different data types, and cross-functional teams to drive sales forecast initiatives.
  • Strong Excel and forecasting software expertise required.
  • Background in statistical and financial modeling (trend analysis, regression, scenario planning, data quality, validation, documentation) preferred.
  • Risk analysis experience.
  • Strategic thinker, team player, and effective communicator required.
  • Experience promoting a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation required.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, data analytics, or equivalent work experience.
  • MRP (NetSuite) and Adaptive Insights (Workday) or other Business Intelligence software experience required.
  • 3+ years of Sales Forecasting/Demand Planning experience at OEM of consumer retail products.
  • Logility, Anaplan, Demantra (or similar) experience highly preferred.
  • Music Industry Retail Product experience preferred.

Additional Details: Max Pay is $55 per hour, Min Pay is $45 per hour.
